Lead Data Engineer – AWS Cloud Solutions

My client is looking for a skilled Lead Data Engineer to join their Data Team and lead the development of cutting-edge AWS solutions. You will collaborate with architects and engineers to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure, while driving data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and implementation of AWS-based solutions for Data & Analytics, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
* Ensure compliance with AWS security and governance best practices.
* Drive DevOps adoption to streamline deployment and enhance automation.
* Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a learning culture.
* Stay current with AWS tools and industry trends.

Required Experience:
* Deep experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, VPC, etc.).
* Expertise in AWS security, compliance, and data protection.
* Proven ability to build modern data pipelines for analytics platforms.
* Experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, Glue, Athena).
* Strong DevOps skills, including CI/CD tools (CodePipeline, CodeCommit).
* Leadership experience in mentoring teams and driving best practices.

Desired Skills:
* Experience with AWS data lakehouse architectures and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
* AWS certification (Solutions Architect, Cloud Data Engineer) is a plus.

This role has been deemed outside IR35.
