SC cleared – UX Designer – Inside IR35 – 6 month initial contract

A public sector client of mine are seeking individuals with a deep passion for crafting user-friendly services that prioritize accessibility for all.

In this role, you will collaborate within a diverse team of researchers and developers to create top-tier, user-centric services tailored for the public. Your primary responsibility will involve designing accessible services that cater to a broad audience.

As a UX Designer, your tasks will include determining optimal user interactions with services, refining overall flow, and enhancing individual design elements. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring and training fellow designers, contributing to the growth and advancement of the interaction design team.

An essential part of this role is a solid understanding of internet functionality, experience in agile design environments, and a commitment to supporting the government in transforming service delivery to be more streamlined, efficient, and user-friendly.

As a UX Designer, your key responsibilities will include:

* Designing accessible services that prioritize simplicity for all users.
* Identifying, developing, and implementing best practices and standards to design services consistent with GDS guidelines.
* Advocating for users and comprehending user needs to design simple, effective, and accessible services.
* Creating prototypes and concepts for communication and testing ideas with users, iterating based on evidence.
* Mapping user journeys, processes, and visualizing design problems.
* Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team on large, complex services, facilitating the design process, participating in research activities, workshops, and effectively communicating design decisions to the team and stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:

* Active SC Clearance.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of user-centered design practices.
* Experience working in Agile environments.
